Production Reference Guide
SiliconView® is the world's only proprietary 5-color L.E.D. outdoor display. With its expanded color gamut, SiliconView delivers the sharpest, most saturated colors and whitest whites available today. To make sure that you fully utilize this revolutionary advertising platform, please take note of the following specitications.
- Make sure your monitor is fully calibrated to CIE specifications, with color balance set to - 6500K
- Make sure the colors used are within the best LCD monitor color triangle
- Make sure that the final artwork resolution is 72 pixels/inch.
- Make sure that the final artwork dimensions are 416 pixels wide by 224 pixels high.
- Make sure that the final file type is a Tiff, L*a*b*, 8 bits per channel, IBM/PC, no compression.
When sizing the final piece or graphics within the final piece, i.e. fonts and logos, remember to never 'up-res' your artwork (or size up the resolution). Always use a 1:1 ratio or downsize. Up-resing your artwork is not good practice and will most likely result in image degradation and loss of overall quality. Due to strict requirements of the sign, ads submitted that do not meet the technical specifications will require additional edits and could delay the posting of your advertisement
Distance Guide
To evaluate the legibility of your ad from varying roadway viewing distances:
- Display the non-zoomed ad copy on your monitor
- Measure the width of the ad copy on your monitor in inches
- Divide 410 by the width of the ad copy to establish the distance radio
- To simulate roadway viewing distances of an actual 19' X 34' SiliconView display, view the ad copy on your monitor from varying distances and multiply the distance between you and your monitor by the distance ratio that you calculated above.
Example
- My non-zoomed ad copy measures 4.25" in width on my computer monitor
- 410/4.25 = distance ratio of 96.47
- If I view the ad copy on my monitor from a distance of 7'. I am simulating viewing an actual SiliconView display on the freeway from a distance of 675' (7' x 96.47 = 675').
